Into the Dragon's Lair

The Okavango Delta in Botswana is one of the only river systems in the world that flows into a desert. An eden for many of Africa's iconic wildlife species, it is also home for the Nile crocodile, a highly adaptive prehistoric predator that is ideally suited for the papyrus cave systems that are created by hippos and elephants. These images were taken during three trips to film Nile crocodiles underwater in the panhandle of the Okavango Delta between 2008 and 2010.
